The Birth of the Interplanetary Alliance
It all begun on a relatively normal day on one of the border colonies in the Gigerdi Alliance, as normal as it ever could be there. Not long ago Rubek had made his raise for power, which certainly didn’t make the situation of the border colonies any better, perhaps just worse. And it continued go worse all the time. As some of the colonies started to suffer from lack of supplies and power, unrest raised and soon the colonies were planning on how to survive without the Alliance. More and more colonies joined together on a cause for a better future for them, but doing this union wasn’t easy.
Cheloka five was one of the less cared border colonies in the GA for all the time. Still it had survived a lot better than most of the other border worlds. The planet had no strategic value and really had very little of natural resources, which were one of the only things the GA cared about. That’s why a transport ship arrived there with very little of supplies every two months and took away all of the resources they had gathered. Even as most of the people considered this to be unfair still there were those who believed in the GA and the local Section 18 office certainly did. They had tolerated this kind of behavior from the GA long time already, but now more and more people no longer tolerated it. Same kind of situations was on several of the border colonies and especially on the outer rim colonies, but they were completely different as there really was no order. Still the situation in the border colonies was far more acceptable, but could have been better had the GA cared more about them.
Chapter 1: Restless Times
In the governor’s office, a message had just come in from the GA strategic command itself. Many of the government employees were eagerly waiting for this message as it was the first time they got one from the strategic command. Some of the people there were already speculating as to what might be in that message: “I wonder has some war broken out again.” “I doubt that, since usually we won’t be informed about those, unless if it’s the Federation. Remember the Bacterian wars or the secession war? We heard about those after they were already over.” “Well, I suppose you could count that as good thing as well, since we didn’t have to worry about them at all.” “Yeah, I guess you’re right about that.”
Then the governor came out from his office. Everyone noticed that he wasn’t in happy mood. Some thought that he was just joking on that, but they soon found out that he wasn’t: “The supply transport will be coming in next week to pick up all the resources and apparently will be taking all of the colonial space defense forces in here and in nearby systems with it.” “But why? Now that we’ve even received reports of possible outer rim pirates heading here?” One of the government employees asked. All of the people there were amazed and frustrated of this order. “I don’t know, I already sent a message back there to request that those defense forces will be left here, but I’m not sure will they listen.”
